Why DOESN'T anyone attack the bad guy while he's giving a speech? Pride? ...

No-one asks why magic can be performed despite weather conditions (fire in rain, water in hell, etc).

The bad guy never takes advantage of a knocked-out person, unless they're a rapist, (if so, I haven't come across it), they are not the final boss, rapists aren't evil enough apparently.
